As the fish enter the channel, photographers capture diving osprey and eagles surfacing with alewives clenched by their talons. As I stood upon the bridge waiting for birds with camera in hand, the scene below caught my eye. A massive school of alewives entered the channel just below me, and with the light just right this made for a wonderful composition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Dave Dostie lives in Augusta, balances careers in government finance and photography, and loves keeping active outdoors.
