Advocate Media USA uses social media to interact with Mainers, visitors to the state, subscribers, local business owners, and more. Advocate Media’s social media venues are open, and we welcome discussion in them. Whether user-posted content is positive or negative, as long as it is in context to the conversation and doesn\u2019t fall into any of the examples below, then we will not hide or delete the content. However if the content is ugly, offensive, denigrating, and\/or completely out of context, then we will reject the content.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

While it is not our goal to ban or block individual users from our pages, if we believe content violates this policy, we reserve the right to remove that content and may warn or block the offending user. The following activities or types of comments are examples of unacceptable social media behavior:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

  1. Comments not topically related to the particular social media post or thread.<\/li>\r\n
  2. Posts or comments that make obscene remarks about or attack State 23 Media\u2019s publications, staff, contributors, editorial subjects, advertisers, or partners.<\/li>\r\n
  3. Graphic, obscene, sexist, racist, or similar offensive comments. Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetrates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, or gender.<\/li>\r\n
  4. Spam, solicitations, and advertisements.<\/li>\r\n
  5. Copyrighted or trademarked material, or intellectual property, posted without the permission of the owner.<\/li>\r\n
